Work directly with Disocy’s founder on a focused, milestone-driven assignment to produce a single digital wearable label ready for print and garment integration, with CAD exports and documented attachment guidance.
Role overview
Your mission is to produce a production-ready digital wearable label that will serve as a primary physical identity element across garments, balancing organic, asymmetric aesthetics with pragmatic fit and tolerances for a small NFC chip. Deliverables include editable source files plus print-ready STL and STEP exports, documented print and tolerance notes, and recommended garment-attachment options.
Disocy works in concise, milestone-driven collaborations with direct founder involvement and decisive feedback. You will propose a milestone plan and timeline within the one-week maximum delivery window, state how many design iterations are included in your fee, and iterate to an approved final package that Disocy can print, insert the NFC chip into, and validate internally.
Responsibilities
- Propose a clear milestone plan and timeline that fits within the one-week maximum delivery window and state how many design iterations are included in your fee.
- Produce an organic, asymmetric 3D design optimized for TPU that places the Disocy isotype on the front and the logotype on the back while respecting material and aesthetic constraints.
- Define and document a cavity and tolerances for the specified 25 mm × 0.44 mm NFC chip so Disocy can print and insert chips reliably.
- Deliver editable native source files together with print-ready STL and STEP exports and include documented print and tolerance notes.
- Recommend practical garment-attachment and integration methods, explain trade-offs between options, and note any finishing or assembly considerations.
- Communicate consistently and respond to revision requests within the agreed timeline and iteration count so the project proceeds predictably.
Requirements
- A portfolio demonstrating recent work on small wearable components, accessories, product details, or small functional components that shows design-for-additive-manufacturing and fastening or garment-integration solutions.
- Strong 3D modeling skills in both surface and solid modeling with the ability to deliver editable native source files as well as STL and STEP exports.
- Practical experience specifying cavities and tolerances for small electronics components, specifically NFC-size clearances, and the ability to document print and tolerance notes.
- Demonstrable judgment designing for additive manufacturing and flexible materials, with TPU experience preferred.
- Availability to start promptly and to deliver final approved digital deliverables within one week of project start, together with a proposed milestone breakdown, timeline within that window, and an explicit count of included iterations.
- A proposed fee structure—either a fixed project fee or an hourly/day rate—and a clear statement of what is included in that fee and any optional prototyping costs.
- Agreement to assign all transferable intellectual property and exploitation rights in the final approved designs and files to Disocy upon full payment, and consistent communication in English or Spanish during the collaboration.
Nice to have
- Direct hands-on experience designing and printing TPU wearable parts and familiarity with their finishing constraints.
- Prior collaboration on garment-integrated hardware, labels, or accessories that required attachment or assembly workflows.
- Experience producing slicer or recommended print-setting notes and practical guidance for common printers and materials.
- Capacity to propose and price optional physical prototype coordination or outsourced printing if you choose to offer it as an add-on service.
